Uh...Hi?

Some of you may have noticed how I disappeared from the blogosphere. My only explanation is anxiety and depression. I’ve struggled with both for years, but they’ve been more severe lately, so blogging had to step aside as a result. Art is one of my biggest triggers, to the point where I’ve contemplated quitting. I’m still not sure I’m ready to return to the blogosphere, but I’ve already been easing back into Twitter, so hopefully I can manage it.

One of the things I’ve done recently is change my icon. My previous one was cringe-worthy to me, so I finally drew myself a new one. I’m not really happy with it, but until I can come up with something better, here’s a large version of it…

Nicholas from Echo Effect

I also finished a piece of art for a horror project of mine. Even though I've been calling these two Edith and Dennis, those names, along with their very designs, may end up changing the more I get to know them…

What have you guys been up to?

  3. *hugs* It can be really hard to be creative when depressed. Take care of yourself, and I'm sure you'll eventually get back to the art.

  5. Praying for you every day and sending you virtual hugs. Please take care of yourself - watch some movies that make you laugh, dance in the rain (or sun), drink some good tea, stretch, love yourself. You are one talented, amazing lady!

  6. I'm sorry you're going through a rough time. Hopefully you start feeling better soon. :) I love your work and hope you don't quit. But we're often our own worst critiques. If you love doing it, keep doing it. :)

  8. Sorry to hear you've been blue. I sometimes think that's man's natural state, and it's only rarely we are truly happy about something. I hope your art inspires you and doesn't trigger unhappiness. I love your new color drawing, especially Edith! Just from her drawing I can picture her personality - bright, cheerful, and snappy as a whip!

  12. I'm sorry that things have been tough lately. I'm no stranger to anxiety and depression, and I know how both of those can just debilitate someone. I'm always here if you'd like to talk, and I'll always cheer you on, because your work is fabulous!

Big hug! New perspectives and directions, even dreams, can be a good thing. We all have a purpose in life. Just don't give up, okay?

  19. I've been about as absent as you, so I didn't realize you'd been away. It's tough getting back into the scene, eh? But hey, we'll take what we can get.
