Winning Books is Apparently What I Do...

I’ve had some uncanny luck with book contests lately. For example, I recently won a copy of The Devil’s Intern by Donna Hosie…

And just today, I found out I won a signed copy of Diary of a Girl Next Door: Betty, written by Tania del Rio and illustrated by Bill Galvan!

I’m incredibly excited to read both. Donna Hosie’s Searching for Arthur was one of my faves in 2013, and I absolutely adore Tania del Rio’s manga version of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Both these reads are bound to be stellar, for sure!

What about the rest of you? Have any of you added any fun books to your own TBR piles recently?

  1. Ooh! Congrats on your wins! I had a string of wins earlier this year, but I haven't won anything since before the summer.

  2. Not winning books, but I have plenty of them left to read on my kobo...and the 66 books I still want to read on goodreads. Need more free time!

    1. LOL, I know what you mean about needing more free time. I never seem to have enough of it for reading! (Or for anything else, for that matter...)

    1. Three days? Wow! I have a hard time reading a book that quickly anymore, heh.

  5. My TBR list is getting quite scary. I've been struggling to read eBooks around the pregnancy (eyes are changing) and it's super frustrating. An hour in and I get a headache. *sigh* So, while all the print books on the list are getting consumed, the eBooks are piling up. Like I said, scary.

    1. I know what you mean about scary TBR piles. Mine has been out of control for a long while now! And aw, sorry to hear it's so hard for you to read ebooks lately. Thank goodness you can still read printed ones!

    2. I know! Otherwise there might be an explosion, right here in Florida. You'd read about it on the news and shake your head because you'd know the cause. ;)

  11. Just read the latest Echo and loved it! Just thought you should know. :)

  12. I meant to ask you, have you ever looked into contacting newspaper syndicates for your comics? I think your Echo comics would be cool for that!

(I even tossed around the idea of Mama Diaries becoming a newspaper comic series. I know you said you'd be interested in drawing the comics if I ever wanted to do a book. Would you be interested in doing a newspaper syndication if I decided to work on that?)

    1. I actually never have! I already know Echo Effect will be wrapping up in a couple years, since I've had the whole series planned from the beginning, so it wouldn't last long in a newspaper, anyway, haha.

Mama Diaries as a newspaper comic series sounds like such a fun idea! I'd have to see what my workload is like, should you decide to make this a reality, but it's definitely something I'm interested in! :)

  14. I've won a couple books in the last couple months. It's a mixed blessing - I really want to read them but the TBR pile is getting a bit daunting. So many books...

  15. Congrats! Won a couple of book cards recently, which is the gift that gives again - and makes it very easy to increase my TBR pile! Have had a chance to get through quite a few while blogging less and being on holiday, though.
