Weekly Webcomic Updates

No, I haven't started posting volume two of Echo Effect yet. I have been posting extras during the hiatus, though, so I thought I'd share them here!

First, here's an old guest strip I did for the webcomic Seeking Shelter, featuring Nicholas and Coco! If you prefer reading Echo Effect on Blogspot, you can find it here as well.

Next, here's a glimpse at my art process, where you get to see the penciled and inked pages for strip #135! (Again, if you prefer Blogspot, you can always click here to see it, too.)

As for how volume two is progressing, strips #136-138 are already completed while strips #139-149 have been penciled/inked. I'm even in the middle of drawing #150! I don't have a set date for the volume two premiere yet, but it might be sooner than I planned, simply because I'm getting impatient and want to show you all Nicholas how much more epic this volume is already...

Also, don't forget to check out my webcomic on Monday. Volume two may not be premiering yet, but a really fun guest strip will be popping up! This hiatus isn't too hiatusy so far, right?!

  1. Wahoo! I'm off to check out the linkage. I would totally loan you my time-stopper to get your strips done faster...if it wasn't broken. (I think my hubby busted it behind my back to stave premature aging. *shrugs*)

    1. Aw, too bad, that time-stopper would've come in handy, for sure! ;)

    2. I KNOW! It's so difficult to be chained to the realms of normality, eh?

    3. Definitely! *shakes fist at normality*

  2. I checked out your process, that's pretty cool. I haven't given up on paper and pencil drawing, but I tend to just start off in photoshop anymore. Whatever, I don't know what I'm doing, but I guess I like playing around in it form a blank page.

    1. Wow, I'm impressed you can draw straight in Photoshop! It does seem like it'd be more convenient to start there, but I'm still sticking with pencils for now, since it's nice to give my eyes a break from the computer!

  3. Wow, I can't believe how much you've done already. You didn't even really take a break. I don't draw by hand, but I love to get different images and photoshop them together, so I know how enjoyable creating art is. Keep it up!

    1. Thanks! There's no such thing as a break for webcomic artists. Even when hiatuses are going on online, it's still all art, all the time! ;)

  4. Loved seeing that work in progress sketch, although I really want to know what happens next. Eek! I mean, I hope he's ok, somehow, and gets his act together. :)
    Happy Hiatus!

    1. I avoided the computer more than normal this past week, so that freed up some time for me!

    1. Figures if anyone could charm kittens over, it'd be Nicholas, huh? :P

And thanks! Hope you have a great weekend, too!

  7. Whoa! You've been productive! YAY you! You already know I love seeing how your art comes to life, but I'm really glad you shared it as an extra. Seems like other fans enjoyed it, too! Keep up the good work, but do try to have a little fun Heather time during the hiatus. ;)

    1. Thank you! Since I haven't been on the computer much lately, it's given me a lot of time to draw and ink! (The side effect is not a lot of coloring, though, haha.)

And don't worry, I give myself breaks, too. I even watched a movie this week! ;)

    1. Thank you! I'm still trying to keep it from being too hiatusy, since I don't want anyone to lose interest before volume two!
