TV and Me

Some of you may remember my post about the new shows I plan to check out this season. Some of you may also remember how I started purging a bunch of returning shows from my TV schedule. Well, of those returning shows, these are the only five I plan to keep up with…

How I Met Your Mother

It’s the final season…which means Ted is finally going to meet the mother! Time to start gearing up for the apocalypse…

The Middle

An underrated family sitcom that’s as quirky as it is relatable!

The Neighbors

Aliens in suburbia! This sitcom had a shaky start last year, but soon became a must-watch for me.

Once Upon a Time

The one drama that survived my television purge. I love seeing how it merges different fairytales and other classic stories!

Suburgatory

A sitcom that wonderfully blends absurdism with cynicism. It won’t be back till midseason, though, with awesome actors like Alan Tudyk cut from the main cast. *pouts*

What about the rest of you? Which returning shows do you plan to watch this season?

  1. Getting things where I live (Egypt) is rather hit or miss. I really hope I get to see the new season of "How I Met Your Mother." I need to find out how Ted met his wife!!! Happy viewing to you! :-)

    1. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! It'd suck to not find out how he meets the mother after all these years...

  2. How I Met Your Mother has gone on for way too long. I loved the show but by the time I got onto Season 3, I gave up. I think I'll watch the last season though!

I love The Middle and I agree. It's very relatable. SO many shows star well off families and everything and it's like hey! some of us are broke!

I still haven't gotten into Once Upon a Time though.

    1. While I agree that HIMYM could've easily been condensed, I don't mind that it's gone on this long, since the later seasons have been just as enjoyable as early ones to me, and even have some of my all-time fave episodes, like "Symphony of Illumination." Now that season 9 is for sure the end, hopefully it won't disappoint!

Once Upon a Time is a really fun show, although not flawless. And I am so with you on The Middle. I can't relate to those well-off families, either!

  3. I'm excited for Once Upon a Time to start up, too. And How I Met Your Mother. I'm glad it's the last season, to be honest. I think if it wasn't I might have purged it from my list. :P

    1. Yeah, it'd be ridiculous if HIMYM went on after season 9. His kids need to be born soon so they don't have to retcon long-established dates!

  4. I'm so imbalanced. We only watch things with a fantastic twist. Is that awful? I can't wait for Supernatural, and Falling Skies, and Vampire Diaries. I guess we get enough sitcom drama with regular every day life. ;)

    1. I used to watch Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries, but they're a couple of the shows I ended up purging this past year, haha. Usually fantasy shows dominate my list, too, but my favorites in that genre are always cancelled early. :(

    1. I don't have cable, so my TV has forever been housewives-free. :P

  6. Once Upon a Time has been a family favorite since it started - love seeing how they mix the fairy tales and make them new!

  7. We don't have cable or any sort of dish network, so my family watches crime solving shows together. We like Hawaii 5-0. We also like the drama Blue Bloods (which has a crime solving element to it).

    1. I don't have cable or dish, either. That's awesome how your family is able to enjoy the same shows together!

  8. I watch a lot of crime/detective shows, so I'll keep with quite a few of those. I plan to try out The Blacklist, Hostages, and Sleepy Hollow.

    1. I checked out Sleepy Hollow and thought the first episode was a really promising start, so hopefully you'll enjoy it, too!

  9. Let's see, there will be Modern Family, Supernatural, The Walking Dead, The Big Bang Theory, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. There are a few new ones that I will be trying. I watched Sleepy Hollow last night and didn't like it. I'll give the new Dracula show on NBC a try too.

    1. That's a shame you didn't like Sleepy Hollow. I really enjoyed the first episode of that. Hopefully the other new shows you plan to check out won't disappoint!
