A Trip to the Dentist

This conversation happened between me and a dental assistant on Friday when I went in for my routine cleaning:

DA: *looks in my mouth and gasps* “Oh, no!”
Me: “What?!”
DA: “Did you stab yourself in the mouth?!”
Me: “Huh? No.”
DA: *all cheery* “Oh, never mind, then!” *plows into the teeth-cleaning*
Me: ?!?!

I still don’t understand why she thought it looked like I stabbed myself in the mouth.

  1. Yeah, that's never good when someone asks that!

    1. I know, right?! I've had problems with my mouth in the past, so I couldn't help but panic when she said that!

  2. Ugh. I hate going to the dentist, even for a clean. Maybe she just said that to take your mind off the treatment - you were so busy puzzling over that, you didn't complain about the cleaning!

    1. I don't think so, since she's always the one to clean my teeth and has never done anything like this before. Cleanings never bother me!
